It has often been discussed and stated on many a server that the NWN single currency system (gold pieces only) is counter-productive, and immersion breaking in a role play D&D setting. Without copper, silver, and gold pieces to work with, prices become unstable, and the economy can see potential problems, with simple items having unrealistically high prices, or special items unrealistically low ones. The economic level appropriate to NPCs , therefore, cannot often be portrayed due to a lack of lower worth currency. Yet, we've also found that many of the three coin systems designed for NWN are clunky and counter intuitive. Because of this, the following ruling has been reached.
All Earned Coinage In Game Should Be considered and referred to as SILVER PIECES.
The coins can also be referred to as whatever the equivalent of silver pieces would be in one's domain or realm of origin, but should not be referred to as gold. If gold coins are spoken of by PCs or NPCs, it will be assumed to mean 100 of the coinage represented by your in game, mechanical amount. To this note, dialogue options and lootable coins will be updated to look like and be referred to as silver coins.
